I make this chilli  mild not all my family like it too hot I let everyone add Sriracha chilli sauce which we all like £2.50 in Tesco’s at the table.

It is at its best when made the day before eating letting all the spices blend in.

 It will also freeze OK.

Serves 4

500g beef mince 20% fat £1.59 aldi

2 x 400g tins of premier chopped tomatoes £0.34 each aldi

2 Tbsp of hot paprika

1 Tbsp of garlic granules or 2 cloves of crushed garlic

1 400g tin of kidney beans drained £0.30 Morrisons

1 rounded Tbsp of butter and 1 heaped Tbsp of any flour mixed together into a paste

A pinch of salt.

Brown mince in a pan when browned pour off any excess fat

Add tomatoes paprika and garlic

Bring to boil put on lid and gently simmer for 45min

Add drained tin of kidney beans and flour  butter paste and stir in bring back to a simmer and cook for 15min.

Season to taste with salt.

Serve with boiled rice garlic bread or tortillas
